Abstract

The State University of New York at Albany is offering two short courses, X-ray spectrometry June 7–18, 1976, and X-ray powder diffraction June 21 to July 2, 1976.

The modern X-ray spectrometry course will cover basic principles and techniques and will demonstrate wavelength dispersive and energy dispersive methods. In the second course, X-ray powder diffraction, principles and practice of instrumentation, specimen preparation, identification of powder patterns, and practical consideration on the use of computer retrieval and computer-assisted identification will be covered in depth. For both courses, time is divided equally between lectures and problem-solving sessions.
