Abstract

The only state-level scientific advisory body which is both legislatively chartered and privately funded will undertake an extensive program in its initial effort to apply technological expertise to problems of public concern in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering, Inc. (CASE), was established by a special act of the Connecticut General Assembly in May 1976. CASE is to provide guidance to the people of Connecticut and to industry and commerce; initiate reports when advances in science and engineering raise implications that impact on public policy; and encourage, foster, and promote interest in science and engineering on the part of the public, especially young people.
