Solar wind study

Late next summer, an unusual grouping of spacecraft will provide an excellent opportunity for highlatitude solar wind observations. Thomas A. Croft at SRI International is seeking participants for a concentrated solar and solar wind study program during August and September 1979 when at least four spacecraft will pass above the solar north pole on the far side of the sun away from the earth.

The four spacecraft are Voyager 1, Voyager 2, Pioneer Venus orbiter, and Pioneer 11. Additionally, Helios 1 and 2 may be in position to make a useful contribution.
