The American Tentative Society (ATS) invites nominations for its 1979 Rennie Taylor Awards, established to recognize and honor persons displaying flexibility of thinking.

The ATS, founded by science writers, commemorates one of their number, the late Rennie Taylor. The awards are presented for ‘intellectual flexibility which has contributed to human progress and knowledge.’ The ATS, a nonprofit educational foundation, holds that ‘it is the essence of science and common sense to regard our present knowledge as subject to growth, addition or revision and, therefore tentative.’
