At its annual meeting in Boulder on January 11–12 the University Corporation for Atmosphere Research (UCAR) Board of Trustees elected new officers. Elected were William Gordon (Rice University), chairman; Robert White (National Academy of Sciences), vice chairmen; Thomas Donahue (University of Michigan), secretary; John Dutton (Pennsylvania State University), treasurer; and A. Ray Chamberlain (Colorado State University), member-at-large of the Executive Committee.
Under UCAR bylaws these five officers compose the board's Executive Committee. In recent years they have also served as the board's Budget and Program Committee, which examines UCAR and NCAR plans and budgets and recommends actions to the board.
