The Ninth Geop (Geodesy/Solid Earth and Ocean Physics) Research Conference was sponsored by IAG and Cospar and cosponsored by AGU, DMA, NASA, NOAA, USGS, and the Department of Geodetic Science of the Ohio State University. It took place in the Fawcett Center for Tomorrow, at Columbus, Ohio, October 2–5, 1978 and was attended by 209 persons from 16 countries.
The meeting was divided into eight scientific sessions, each dealing with geodynamic phenomena to which geodesy can be applied. This report is based on the last session which was devoted to general applications.
