Seismic refraction-reflection record sections for the Yellowstone-Snake River Plain area are now available to interested investigators. The data were obtained during September 1978 as part of a cooperative seismicprofiling experiment. Participants in the experiment included personnel from the universities of Utah, Nevada, Montana, California at San Diego, and Texas at Dallas; Purdue University; Stanford University; New Mexico State University; the Geophysics Institute of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland; the Geophysics Institute of the University of Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany; the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory; and the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the experiment was provided by grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Geological Survey Geothermal Research Program, and other sources. Project directors for the experiment were Robert B. Smith of the University of Utah and Lawrence W. Braile of Purdue University.
