Sixth annual meeting of the European Geophysical Society

Five hundred forty-one geophysicists, including 53 students and representing 22 European and 11 other countries reaching from Kenya to Japan, gathered in Vienna for the Sixth Annual Meeting of the European Geophysical Society, September 11–14, 1979. The scientific program was organized around 14 symposia, six ‘open’ or general sessions for contributed papers in various subdisciplines, and one workshop. Three Society lectures were featured as part of the program, and the Voyager films of Jupiter attracted a full house. The vigor of European research in all areas of geophysics was manifested in the broad range of topics presented.
