Abstract

The National Climate Program Act of 1978 established a committee to advise the Secretary of Commerce and the Congress on the conduct of the National Climate Program, created under the Act. The National Climate Program is a multiagency effort administered through a program office in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Its purpose is to help the United States understand and respond to both natural and man-induced climate processes and their implications.
