NASA budget reductions

Abstract

The president's revised budget request would reduce the National Aeronautic and Space Administration's (NASA) FY 1981 budget by about $219 million. The reductions would thus trim about 3.5% from NASA's original request of $5.7 billion.

Funds for development of the space shuttle have remained untouched by the new budget request. The shuttle is still slated to receive its $300 million FY 1980 supplemental request and the $1.87 billion FY 1981 allotment.
