In a draft report that will accompany the first House budget resolution, the House Budget Committee has recommended that relatively small cuts be made in the FY 1981 budgets for the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The committee's action covered ‘budget function 250,’ which encompasses the bulk of NASA's and the NSF's budgets and includes a portion of the Department of Energy (DOE) budget. (For purposes of the budget process, the various federal programs are divided into ‘functions.’)
