Drift results

  • M. Gadsden

I learn from EOS (February 12, 1980, p. 73) that continental drift has moved Aberdeen to England. This must have happened while I was away at the IUGG meeting in Canberra; tectonophysicists will be interested in a velocity of almost 100 mms−1 in the crust. Perhaps movement at a similar speed will put Rice University into Arizona, although I daren't hope my fellow Vice, Alex Dessler, will have to live in the Gadsden [P]urchase.
