Saturn day longer than previous estimates

It has been determined recently that the rotation period of Saturn is some 24 minutes longer than had previously been estimated. Using bursts of radio noise, recorded from Saturn by the two Voyager spacecraft, the length of 1 day was measured to be 10 hours, 39.9 minutes long.

Previously, astronomers, using Earth-based observations of the ringed planet, had calculated the length of a day to be about 10 hours, 15 minutes, but they admitted that their measurements lacked great accuracy.
