Four geophysicists will receive research awards under a new cooperative associateship program administered by the National Research Council (NRC). The awards are for up to 2 years of research at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, D.C.
James Howard Beall and Judith Tobi Karpen, graduates of the University of Maryland's Ph.D. program, will work in NRL's space sciences division. John Blake Hoover, a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University, and George Frederick Spooner, a graduate of the University of Washington, will work in the ocean sciences division.
