Applications are being accepted for an Antarctic fellowship program that will enable a humanities scholar to study the continent for up to 1 year. The National Endowment for the Humanities, in cooperation with the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Research Program, will select a fellow in March 1981. The fellowship will be awarded for a continuous period of either 3, 6, or 12 months of full-time study and research. Maximum stipend is $5500 for 3 months, $11,000 for 6 months, and $22,000 for a full year. The fellow is expected to spend 1 to 3 months in the Antarctic, between October 1981 and March 1982.
