A limited number of summer employment positions are available to college students who have not had extensive exposure to atmospheric science laboratory work. The program, sponsored by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), is open to all students who will have completed sophomore year by the 1981 summer, but it is intended primarily to aid minorities.
Accepted applicants will be assigned to a research project that focuses on topics that include atmospheric dynamics, climate, oceanography, acid precipitation, numerical weather prediction, atmosphere physics, and solar and space physics. Students will receive a monthly salary of $750, a housing allowance, and round-trip air fare to NCAR in Boulder, Colorado.
