A device to help steady divers and their equipment during underwater research has been developed at the Battelle Columbus Laboratories.
Divers have problems keeping themselves in position and holding onto equipment during salvage and other underwater operations, explained developer Donald J. Hackman. The ‘seawater evacuation system’ operates as a suction pump and establishes a clamping force.
