An earthquake, measuring 6.7 on the Richter scale, occurred approximately 425 km west of Vancouver, British Columbia, at 8:22 A.M. P S T , December 17. The earthquake was probably centered on the Explorer Ridge, according to a spokesman from the U.S. Geological Survey. It was not felt in Vancouver or Seattle, according to the USGS, and there was no damage reported.
