The U.S.S.R. has conducted several investigations to evaluate passive microwave remote sensing in selected agricultural and hydrologic problems. These include irrigation scheduling and management, floodplain delineation, and drainage basin analysis. Since many of these results are scattered through translations of limited distribution, this survey was conducted to summarize the results.
