A Chapman Conference on Magnetospheric Currents was held in Irvington, Va, during April 5–8, 1983. The purpose of this conference was to bring together theoretical and experimental researchers and students interested in electric currents in the earth's and other planets′ magnetospheres. The knowledge in this area was reviewed and remaining questions were identified. Over 90 registrants from four continents (including countries such as Japan, Mainland China, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Canada) participated in formal presentations, poster sessions, and informal discussions. Some of the highlights and principal results of this conference are reviewed here.
