First Spacelab flight



The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) are combining efforts to place Spacelab into earth orbit for its first mission. (Originally scheduled for October 28, the flight has now been postponed for 1 to 3 months.) This mission will be the first in a series o f flights of a working laboratory in space to utilize the region outside of the earth's atmosphere. Scientists will be in the Spacelab to do experiments on a range of disciplines.
