A blue-ribbon panel of government, university, and industry leaders has been established to explore alternative approaches to strengthening their relationships.
The 18 member Government- University-Industry-Research Roundtable Council, organized as an independent unit under the aegis of the council of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), will address issues affecting and limiting the vitality of science in the United States. Thirteen of the 18 members are from universities and industry; 5 are senior federal officials. Dale R. Corson, president emeritus of Cornell University, is chairman of the roundtable council.
