Abstract

Some of the data from the Navy's Geodetic Satellite (Geosat) mission may soon be made available to the research community and to the public, following several years of efforts to set up a mechanism for sharing what had been designated as classified data with non-Navy scientists. The release of data may begin in “a couple of months,” according to Tom Davis, head of Advanced Technology Staff at the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
