Abstract

In a move that is expected to streamline operations and to save up to $1 million dollars, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is consolidating its nationwide mail order branches for distribution of maps, scientific books and reports, and general-interest publicationsw at the USGS offices at the Denver Federal Center. Customer services at the more than 2800 private map dealers in the nation that sell USGS topographic maps will not be affected by the consolidation.
