Proposals sought for ocean study

  • Anonymous

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking proposals to study global ocean circulation using the data to be gathered by the collaborative U.S./French TOPEX/Poseidon altimetric mission. The mission will use a spacecraft that carries altimetric and tracking instruments to make precision measurements of sea surface topography. These observations will be used to study the general circulation of the ocean and its mesoscale variability, ocean tides, surface gravity waves, and problems in marine geophysics.
