Salton sea samples and data available

The drilling of a 10,564-ft (3220-m)-deep research well in the Salton Sea geothermal field of California marks the successful completion of Stage I of the Salton Sea Scientific Drilling Program (SSSDP). Drill cuttings (normally at 10-ft (∼3-m) intervals for the entire depth of the well), approximately 725 ft (∼220 m) of unoriented rock core from 36 intervals between the 1550-ft and 9900-ft (472-m and 3018-m) depths, and a comprehensive suite of wireline logs will become available soon for further research by qualified investigators.
