The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is offering approximately 20 summer student fellowships for 1987. The fellowships are awarded to college juniors and seniors and to beginning graduate students with an interest in oceanography who are studying any field of science or engineering.
The program's purpose is to provide unusually talented students with a unique introduction to oceanography or oceanographic engineering. Each fellow works closely with a WHOI staff member on a project dealing with ocean science or engineering. The fellows also attend a series of seminars designed to impart a broad perspective on ocean science.
