Active Tectonics

Active Tectonics is a collection of 16 papers plus a section entitled “Overview and Recommendations.” These papers are meant to serve collectively as a report commissioned by the now defunct Geophysics Research Forum with responsibility passed on to the Geophysics Study Committee, who in turn formed the Panel on Active Tectonics to carry out the task. Several pages at the beginning list the members of these and other groups who presumably made some contribution at some committee meeting, somewhere, sometime. Fortunately, someone in one of these forums or committees recognized that Bob Wallace would make a suitable panel chairman, someone who, could save the book from turning grey before its publication date or from being a paginated paperweight for policymakers.
