The Division of Polar Programs of the National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced a special proposal selection process for research projects related to the annual decrease in stratospheric ozone over Anarctica in the austral spring.
The NSF division has, along with other agencies, supported the first and second National Ozone Expeditions (NOZE 1 and 2) during August–October 1986 and 1987. NOZE 3 is expected to be flown to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, in August 1988. Palmer Station is also accessible during the austral winter. The deadline for proposals for logistical support and research to be conducted during NOZE 3 is January 15, 1988. Proposal kits may be ordered by calling NSF's Division of Polar Programs at 202-357-7817.
