The Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Program of Princeton University (Princeton, N.J.) has changed its name to the Program in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. The new name was chosen to better reflect the scope of research conducted by the students and staff of the program. Research areas range from climate dynamics, middle atmospheric dynamics and chemistry, radiative transfer, atmosphere-ocean interaction, and ocean geochemistry and the carbon cycle to large-scale atmospheric and oceanic dynamics, frontal dynamics, boundary layer turbulence, and fundamental problems in geophysical fluid dynamics.
