Abstract

Twelve minority students were named AGU Scholars for the 1987–1988 academic year. They are among the recipients of scholarships under the American Geological Institute (AGI) Minority Participation Program. This designation recognizes AGU's continued strong support and substantial contribution to this program. Four of these students were designated AGU Sea Grant Scholars because part of the support for this program comes from a matching grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Sea Grant Program, which is aimed at increasing the number of minority students studying in fields related to the development of marine and coastal resources.
