The National Research Council will administer about 100 predoctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral fellowships for the Ford Foundation minorities program in 1989. The awards will go to Native American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Black Americans, Mexican Americans and Chicanos, Native Pacific islanders, and Puerto Ricans.
The fellowships will be given in engineering, mathematics, and the humanities and behavioral, social, physical, and biological sciences. No grants will be given in professional fields such as business administration and management, education, or health sciences or to students planning a terminal masters degree. Only U.S. citizens and nationals are eligible.
