Applications are now being accepted for the American Institute of Physics' Congressional Science Fellowship Program for 1990–1991. The fellow will serve as a special legislative assistant on either a congressional committee or on the staff of a member of Congress. The Congressional Science Fellowship Program was organized by the American Association for the Advancement of Science and includes 15 sponsoring societies.

Qualifications for the AlP-sponsored, 1-year fellowship are a demonstrated Ph.D.-level competence in physics or a related field, membership in an AIP member society, U.S. citizenship or permanent U.S. resident status, and an interest in applying scientific knowledge within the legislative process.
