Fresh from a 9-day bilateral meeting in the Soviet Union on global environmental conservation, a delegation of U.S. ocean policy experts has announced a wide-ranging, joint initiative with two research institutes of the U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences.

Led by James M. Broadus, director of the Marine Policy Center at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Woods Hole, Mass., the U.S. delegation met in Moscow with Soviet scholars from the Institute for World Economy and International Relations and the Institute of Peace to discuss worldwide strategies for assurances against environmental threats to the world's oceans.
