Topographic maps of Mississippi completed

  • Anonymous

The U.S. Geological Survey has completed an initial, once-over topographic mapping of Mississippi, which will provide detailed, accurate, up-to-date tools for planning and managing the state's natural resources.

The l:24,000-scale (one inch on a map represents 2000 feet on the ground), 7.5-minute topographic maps show the shape and elevation of the landscape and delineate a wide range of natural and man-made features. The maps will be used by engineers, scientists and managers of resource and environmental projects.
