Jeff TenPas, who was honored for “Reinterpretation of Paleoclimate from Magnetic Susceptibility on the Chinese Loess Plateau,” is a master's student in soil sciences at the University of California, Davis. His research focuses mmmm on differentiating total soil magnetism into two parts, that due to the parent material and that imparted by soil-forming processes.
