Abstract

Even though NASA would take about a 1.4% hit from current funding levels, NASA plans to hold onto its ambitions to launch some new starts.

For FY 1996, NASA sent Congress a request for $14.26 billion. Science, aeronautics and technology would receive about a 1.1% increase, coming in at about $6 billion, if Clinton gets his way. NASA Administrator Daniel S. Goldin said that NASA will become “less of an operations agency and more of an R&D agency.”
