A new report tracking industrial pollution in North America indicates some good news, in terms of downward trends in the release and transfer of these substances.
The July report, which tracks 165 chemicals released in the United States and Canada, shows that the total amount of 3.2 million tonnes of chemical releases and transfers from industrial facilities tracked by the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) decreased by 2% overall from 1995 to 1998.
