Planetary spacecraft are sometimes considered to be extensions of our senses. This metaphor is truest in describing spacecraft imaging systems, which serve as our eyes on the planets and their satellites. Two recent books offer to be our guides to the solar system as viewed through the lenses of planetary spacecraft.
