A special kind of boundary-value problem is discussed. If, in the interior of a part of the Earth's surface, gravity values are unknown and if, in the exterior area, gravity and potential values are given, it is possible to find the gravity values of the interior area. An interpolation method based on this principle is derived to find the gravity anomalies of an unsurveyed area from interior and exterior astrogeodetic deflections and exterior gravity anomalies.
