Summary

Fluctuating geothermal parameters such as heat flow, heat generation, and coefficient of the thermal conductivity are considered in wide ranges. Probable temperatures in the earth's crust for a number of cases and an interpretation of the geothermal gradient from recent laboratory data are given. The examples of reduction of seismic and thermal ambiguity are discussed.
