Summary

Electromagnetic radiation at twice the electron plasma frequency (2ωp) is generated by the interaction of electron plasma waves excited by electron beams in a laboratory experiment. The power of the 2ωp radiation scales with the fourth power of the electrostatic wave amplitude and is consistent with the prediction of a wave-wave coupling model.
