The imaging of magnetospheres using energetic neutral atoms (ENAs), produced by charge exchange between energetic ions and neutral atoms, is a promising new experimental technique for investigating the global dynamics of hot magnetospheric plasmas. We will give here an example of one of several different ENA detector designs being considered for flight and describe the design and testing of several critical subsystems of this detector.
