Summary

This review discusses the various plasma waves and instabilities detected in the vicinity of comets. Particular emphasis will be placed on nonlinear wave evolution, as well as the role of nonlinear waves in wave-particle interactions. Areas that need further research will be identified to help persons who wish to contribute to the field.
