A program for measurement of precipitation on certain islands in northeastern Lake Michigan and on the lake's perimeter is described, and an analysis is made of the data collected to date. The analysis indicates that lake surface precipitation computed from the perimeter stations may be greater than the true amount in summer and less in winter. The exposure of the individual precipitation gages on islands is a major factor in the analysis of the data.
