Skew incidence on a right-angled impedance wedge

A problem which is relevant to propagation in a rectangular waveguide with imperfectly conducting walls is a plane wave at skew incidence on a right-angled wedge whose surfaces have nonzero impedances either scalar or tensor. The solution is obtained as a power series in the impedance η through terms O(η2). Its properties are discussed and it is shown that unless an impedance compatibility relation is satisfied the solution contains an edge wave whose amplitude is proportional to η2 and whose form is similar to the wave emanating from the edge of a ‘black’ half plane.
