Abstract

The transform normally used for processing the measurements of a rotational aperture synthesis radiotelescope is only approximate. When other than east-west spacings are used, it causes a reduction in the telescope's resolution. In this paper, the magnitude of the aberration is computed and shown to be significant for high resolution instruments. A new aberration-free transform is derived.
