Crosstalk caused by depolarization on a dual-polarized communications satellite link can be reduced by using cancellation techniques. The phase of the cross-polarized signal is crucially important to the design of a cancellation system, and if the phase exhibits only a small variation, a very simple cancellation network can be implemented.
