Dielectric feeds with low cross polarization

Dielectric feeds, consisting of a specially shaped dielectric inserted into a waveguide aperture, can radiate patterns which are circular or elliptical in cross section and provide suitable cross-polar performance. The patterns have been calculated approximately by applying twice the Kirchhoff-Huygens principle. Results of theoretical and experimental investigations are presented for several dielectric feeds with good cross-polarization behavior.
