A note concerning the eddy transfer coefficients of momentum and water vapor under near-adiabatic conditions

Abstract

Data from the Lake Hefner evaporation study of 1950–1951 were used to compute Km, the eddy transfer coefficient for momentum, and Ke, the eddy transfer coefficient for water vapor. For approximately adiabatic conditions the two coefficients were found to be almost exactly equal.
